Inspiration

Inspired by - and longing for - travels in India, I’ve designed some playful animal treasures for you to snuggle up to, to decorate your home with, and to add to your costume collection.

Please meet the intricately adorned Jaipur Elephant and Kutchi Camel, and the fiercely beautiful Bengal Tiger.

Elephant and Camel are hand-illustrated, screen-printed and made into cuddly cushions and teddies, and I’m very happy to say that the long-awaited Animalesque Tiger is now a permanent member of the headdress family! All items are lined with beautiful Indian block-printed cottons or vintage silk saris, each piece with its own unique charm.

Description

The Jaipur Elephant Cushion is screen-printed in indigo blue on organic cotton, and lined with Offset Warehouse spotty indigo batik cotton Cambri.

Printed in charcoal grey on baby blue cotton and lined with Offset Warehouse spotty indigo batik cotton Cambri.

These gorgeous collectable cushions are fun for play, snuggles and decor.

Fabrics and Techniques

Each piece is illustrated, screen-printed and handmade, working from an archive of sustainable textiles mindfully sourced from India, or reclaimed from the costume and fashion industry.

For this collection, it has been an absolute joy to team up with the brilliant team at Offset Warehouse, working with a selection of their gorgeous fairtrade and organic Indian block-printed and batik cottons. (“Fabrics protecting our loved ones, the people who make them and the environment”.)

The Offset Warehouse fabrics that I have chosen for my designs are all hand spun and handwoven using organic cotton, so the farmers and cotton processors do not come into contact with pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilisers. The material is woven within a community that is certified fairtrade by the World Fair Trade Organisation.
